Custom Couture Wedding Gowns and Other Attire for Special Occasions

Are you frustrated by the wedding dress shopping experience? Wish you could find something with sleeves, or without a train, or not floor length, or not a shade of white, or maybe not a dress at all? Or perhaps you’ve been envisioning the perfect dress, but it just doesn’t seem to exist? Then you might want to consider custom attire for your wedding day.

I love making beautiful clothing, and especially for such a happy occasion. I’m open to all kinds of styles, from glamorous 1930s inspirations to retro 1950s skirts, to modern cuts and drapes.  I also find great joy in making tailored items, such as suits, jackets, and vests, for women.

Need something to wear on your head? I also design custom veils, flower crowns, and fascinators that can complement a custom gown or one you’ve already purchased – and they don’t have to be white! Veil fabrics, as well as flowers and other adornments for fascinators and birdcage styles, come in many colors to suit your personal taste and coordinate with your wedding party and decor.

Does your future spouse need an accessory? Ties, bow ties, handkerchiefs, and pocket squares can be made to match or coordinate as well. Your names and wedding date can be hand-embroidered on any item, too.

So bring your ideas, and let’s design together!

Wedding gowns and suits average about 100 hours to complete, but can take substantially more time depending on the style, construction, and finishing details. Material costs can range quite widely, as can the amount of fabric required. Simple silhouettes with straps, and without laces, trims, or trains fall on the lower end of this range; tailored suits and gowns with full skirts and trains, strapless styles, lace, or beading tend to require more time and material to make.

The average total cost of One Crafty Broad gown is between $2,500-$7,000, including labor and materials. Veils and fascinators can usually be made for $50-$200, depending on the style and details.

When to Order

In short: as soon as possible! Because this a very small business (just me!), I am limited in the number of gowns I can create each year, so please schedule your consultation as early as you can. I prefer to have at least 6 months to make your dream garment, so that I can take my time on every detail. Shorter time frames are possible, subject to availability in the calendar. Gowns required in less than 12 weeks will incur a rush fee.
